Neck Pain Treatment
The Woodlands & Spring, Texas

Stiffness, headaches that start at the base of the skull, or pain that travels into your shoulder and arm. We find where it is coming from and help you turn your head freely again.

A Small Area Doing a Big Job

Your neck balances a 10- to 12-pound head all day and protects the nerves that run to your shoulders, arms, and hands. Small problems here can cause pain in surprising places.

Hours looking down at phones and laptops ("tech neck"), sleeping in an awkward position, stress, and old injuries all load the joints and muscles of the neck. Over time, joints can lose normal motion, muscles tighten to compensate, and discs can be irritated.

When a nerve root in the neck is involved, pain, tingling, or weakness can travel into the shoulder blade, arm, or hand. Neck problems are also a common source of headaches.

When to Get Medical Care Right Away

Seek urgent care for:

  • Neck pain after a car accident, fall, or blow to the head
  • Weakness, clumsiness, or loss of coordination in your hands or legs
  • Neck pain with fever and a stiff neck that makes it hard to touch chin to chest
  • A sudden, severe headache with neck pain
  • Dizziness, double vision, or trouble speaking

Neck Pain Questions

Is it safe to have my neck adjusted?
Neck adjustments are generally safe when performed by a trained, licensed chiropractor after a proper exam. Dr. Etemadi screens for risk factors first and uses gentle, low-force techniques when they are a better fit.
What is tech neck?
Tech neck is neck and upper-back strain from spending long periods looking down at phones, tablets, and laptops. Over time it can lead to stiffness, headaches, and muscle imbalance.
Can a pinched nerve in my neck cause arm pain?
Yes. When a nerve root in the neck is irritated by a disc or narrowed opening, pain, tingling, or weakness can travel into the shoulder, arm, and hand.
What is the best sleeping position for neck pain?
Sleeping on your back or side with a pillow that keeps your head level with your spine is usually best. Stomach sleeping twists the neck and often makes neck pain worse.
Is neck pain treatment covered by insurance?
Chiropractic care is covered by many plans, and we are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare. Softwave TRT and spinal decompression are self-pay services.
